Purpose
- Provide guidelines for using common areas in Ihsan. This includes, study rooms, staff rooms, lounge, mosque, main hall, kitchen and any other area inside and outside the building
- Provide guidelines for using the resources and equipments available at Ihsan. This includes sound system, projector, computers, camera, and others.
Guidelines
- All space in Ihsan, except full-time staff offices, is considered common area and does not belong to one individual or one project. Every time an individual or a project uses a space or a resource, you should think of those who will be there after you.
- The common sense guidelines is:
Leave the rooms as you found them and return the resource to where you got it.
- Examples:
o When a project reserves a room or group of rooms, it is the responsibility of the project leader to return all the rooms to where it was found when the project is over.
o When a project leader or volunteer checks out a resource, he or she are responsible to return it to where it was received in the same or better condition.
§ If it needs to be cleaned, it should be cleaned
§ If it needs to be covered, it should be covered
§ If the wires need to be rolled, it should be rolled
§ And so on
- Misuse:
o Misuse is when a room is left not cleaned or unorganized or when a resource is not returned to where it is supposed to or not in the same condition. Misuse is also when left over dust, plates or food is left without being cleaned.
o Leaders, volunteers and staff should report misuse to the Ihsan executive director
- Consequences:
o The Executive Director, in consultation with the president, will inform the project leader in case of misuse
o If a project leader receives 3 notices of misuse, he or she will no longer receive access to resources including rooms for 1 month.
